Message From The President
On behalf of the executive officers and members of the Board of Directors, it is my sincere pleasure and privilege to welcome you to the Web site of The Art Fund Association (“Art FA”). I hope that you will visit our Web site frequently and take advantage of the numerous resources available.
As the face of Art FA, this Web site is a focal point for the exchange of information about the art fund community amongst our membership and the general public at large. Users of our Web site will find important publications, updates and other releases regarding issues affecting the art fund industry. In addition, Art FA offers an extensive network of art market professionals who provide special pricing and services exclusively to our membership. Finally, our members can register for conferences, seminars and events specifically focused on art investment funds that are organized or sponsored by Art FA.
In addition to utilizing the Web site, I hope that you will join us in promoting the value of art investment funds to both the art market and alternative investment community.
As with all new investment structures, the emergence of art investment funds in recent years has been characterized by:
- a focus on the failures of certain early players in the industry,
- the limited operating history of art funds and the resulting questions as to their performance and viability, and
- various misperceptions as to the intentions and purposes of art investment funds.
Art FA believes that art investment funds when properly structured and managed are a viable and powerful investment tool that will in the future become an ever growing part of the investment portfolio of art aficionados and art laymen alike.
As the art fund industry matures and grows, Art FA will seek to promote best business practices and foster constructive dialogue so as to enhance the image and understanding of the art investment fund industry. We hope that you will join us as a member of Art FA to accomplish such goals.
Sincerely,
Enrique E. Liberman
President
